Helena in a car

This painting was inspired by a photoshoot for StandArt magazine, in which I participated as an assistant. A large part of this session took place inside a car, and one of the photos intrigued me so much that I decided to interpret it through painting. The oddly directed flash light, the muted color palette, the feeling of a cramped interior, as well as the lack of a clear boundary between the model and the background, seemed to me an incredibly compelling motif.
